Bud Edmondson has won particular fame for his paintings depicting the southwest. Although he works in many media, watercolor is Bud’s favorite. “It allows me to combine draftsmanship with spontaneity”, he says. Bud is a believer in plein air painting, but says his larger works, while conceived on location, are finished in the studio. Besides painting full time, Bud also makes time to teach and give workshops.

Bud has been honored with Signature membership in the New Mexico Watercolor Society, the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies and Plein Air Painters of New Mexico. The Pastel Society of New Mexico has elevated Bud from Signature member status to Distinguished Pastelist.

Bud’s work has been featured in American Artist Magazine, The Pastel Journal and Santa Fe Focus Magazine.
